At Butler and Tanner we use Insite, an internet based system dedicated to job submission, soft proofing and approval management. This system interfaces seamless with our internal workflow management software Prinergy - ensuring that all processes are managed by one architecture.

How can I use Insite - Butler and Tanners soft proofing and approval tool?

The Insite system can be access through a standard web browser at insite.butlerandtanner.com. All that is required is a username and password, which can be obtained from your account executive.

How do I navigate around Insite?

Once inside the system only the customers projects can be accessed. Simple selectable buttons and the top and to the left hand side of the web page allow users quick and easy navigation.

How do I submit pages to Insite?

Once a project has been setup on the system, users can access the project and then select 'new upload' under 'File Transfer'. Through this multiple files can be selected and directly uploaded to the system - which even returns an upload report to the user.

How do I soft proof pages within Insite?

The pages once processed by Prinergy are now accessible to the user via the pages view. Here a page can be selected and viewed with Smart Review - the soft proofing engine within Insite. Use the Smart review tools to display info about the page, view separations, trims, bleeds and zoom in and out. You can also make annotations to the page to indicate corrections - these corrections can seen by all who log in and available for download to the artwork to initiate. You can even message with other logged on users who are also reviewing the same page. Pages can also be viewed in readers spread mode so run overs between two pages can be checked.

How can pages waiting correction be collected?

Any pages that have been marked with annotations and rejected can have the correction report downloaded by clicking on the 'printable report' button which downloads this as a PDF.

How do I approve or reject pages within Insite?

Pages requiring approval can be approved from either the pages view or Smart Review areas.

How does production control know pages are ready with Insite?

When any corrections requested or the status of pages changed all stakeholders in the project are notified about the change via email.

Are all corrections logged within Insite?

All corrections requests via annotations, message chats between users and changes to status can be tracked within Insite so instantly correction requests can be downloaded as a PDF so the artworker can start work on the corrections instantly.
