Successfully reproducing paintings requires specialist knowledge of scanning, proofing and colour management

FINE ART

Reproducing works of art on paper within the limitations of the printing process has always challenged even the best printers.

Successful results rely on getting things right at the scanning stage or image seperation stage but control on press is also vitally important.

With exhibitors covering such a wide range of objects and supplying a diverse range of originals, achieving consistency is a great challenge

CASE STUDY
The Grosvenor House Antique Fair

Grosvenor House has become one of the world's most prestigious art and antique fairs. With collections from nearly 100 exhibitors on display, capturing the spirit of each in the catalogue is a major challenge.

Material is supplied in a variety of formats yet colour consistency is vital and the repro team looks at each set of originals to work out the treatment required. Once the proofs have been approved the large hard-back book goes into production. With copies needing to be sent out for publicity well in advance of the fair the printing and binding is normally completed in less than ten days.
